Hytro Safety Guide
Train smart, train safe.
At Hytro, we’re passionate about helping you unlock the power of Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) safely and effectively. Our patented BFR Shorts and T-Shirts are designed with built-in BFR technology to make it easier than ever to incorporate this performance and recovery modality into your routine.
General Safety Tips
- Start Slowly: If you’re new to BFR, begin with lighter loads or shorter durations. Let your body adjust over time. Follow the designated Hytro protocols for your best use and outcomes with our products.
- Use for Intended Purposes Only: Hytro garments are engineered for safe BFR during training or recovery. They are not to be worn for prolonged periods outside of these use cases and/or our recommended protocols.
- Know Your Limits: Listen to your body. If you feel pain, numbness, dizziness, or anything out of the ordinary, release the straps immediately and stop your session.
Hytro BFR Shorts
- Correct Fit Matters: Ensure the shorts are snug but not restrictive. When tightening the straps, you should feel firm pressure - not discomfort or pain.
- Positioning is Key: Straps should be placed at the top of the thigh. Avoid strapping too tightly, or too low on the leg.
Hytro BFR T-Shirt
- Comfortable Fit: Like the Shorts, the T-Shirt should feel secure but not restrictive. Adjust the arm straps to apply even pressure at the top of the arms.
- Avoid Over-Tightening: You should still be able to perform exercises without tingling or loss of movement. If you notice these signs, stop and adjust.
When to Avoid Using Hytro
While BFR training is safe for most healthy individuals, we always recommend seeking medical advice first if you:
- Have any cardiovascular, circulatory, or clotting-related conditions like elevated blood pressure, diabetes or blood clots
- Are pregnant
- Are still recovering from recent surgery or injury or have an infection of the skin or limb and have not yet been cleared for rehabilitation and recovery
- Have any concerns about how BFR may affect you
- Use caution when combining BFR with other training or recovery modalities
If in doubt, consult your healthcare professional before starting BFR with Hytro.
Your safety and performance go hand-in-hand. By following these guidelines and easing into your Hytro BFR journey, you’ll be setting yourself up for success - safely and confidently.
