Hytro Becomes Official BFR Partner of Perth Glory FC to Support Readiness Across Demanding Travel Schedules - Hytro

Hytro has partnered with Perth Glory FC as the club’s Official Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Performance and Recovery Partner, supporting player readiness across one of the most demanding travel schedules in elite football.

The collaboration will see Hytro’s patented wearable BFR technology integrated into Perth Glory’s performance programme, with a particular focus on travel preparation, in-flight recovery and managing the physical demands placed on players throughout the A-League season.

More than any other club in the competition, Perth Glory faces unique logistical and physiological challenges. The club regularly travels tens of thousands of kilometres across the season, crossing multiple time zones with limited recovery time before matchday.

Hytro’s wearable BFR technology offers a practical, travel-ready solution in this environment. Lightweight and self-contained, the shorts enable players to stimulate recovery and maintain physical readiness during flights and immediately upon arrival, without the need for heavy equipment, external devices or complex setup. As a result, they now form an integral part of the club’s travel and recovery protocols.

John Lucas, Perth Glory FC, commented: “I’m extremely happy to have Warren and the team at Hytro on board with us at Perth Glory FC as Official Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Performance and Recovery Partners. Having previously used their BFR products extensively in the UK, Hytro is a company in which I have great trust, and I’m delighted to welcome them to Glory as we look to develop and enhance our performance provisions.

“Perth’s geographical isolation in relation to the other teams in the A-League presents significant performance challenges and means that all aspects of our away travel preparation and processes need to be developed and implemented to help maximise performance efficiency. Our players are forced to deal with significant time-zone differences while travelling between 70 and 80,000 km during the A-League season, with flight times ranging from three to eight hours and those flights being undertaken either one or two days before each game. This partnership with Hytro will play a key role in helping our players minimise the impact of these challenges on their matchday performance levels, and the BFR shorts will now form an integral part of the club’s flight, travel and recovery processes.

For Hytro, the partnership reinforces a long-standing commitment to working inside elite football environments. The brand continues to support professional clubs and practitioners across football in the UK, while expanding its presence globally across soccer programmes facing congested schedules, extensive travel and ongoing availability challenges.

Dr Warren Bradley, Founder and Head of Elite Performance at Hytro, added: “This partnership is exciting for me as it tackles a very real performance challenge. Perth Glory operates in one of the most demanding travel environments in elite football and having seen first-hand how travel stress impacts player availability, this collaboration feels genuinely meaningful. Integrating Hytro into the club’s travel and recovery routines allows us to apply science in a practical way that helps players recover faster and arrive ready to perform.
