Hytro BFR has announced Yanto Barker, founder of cycling brand Le Col, and Nikki Doucet, former Nike Senior Exec, to advise on their wearable performance products which are proven to increase strength and speed up recovery.

17th November 2021, UK: Hytro BFR, the leaders in Blood Flow Restriction training with their patented wearable performance products, have appointed two senior advisors to the board.

Yanto Barker, founder and Managing Director of Le Col, has come onboard as a result of the impact Hytro BFR had on his own training, alongside other elite athletes. As a former Team GB Cyclist, Yanto brings a wealth of experience from the apparel and professional sports world, running a leading UK-based premium cycling apparel brand, successfully building the business from inception to maturity.

Yanto said of his appointment, “It’s a delight to be part of this team – Hytro is something I truly believe has huge potential across so many audiences and disciplines, to unlock potential in anyone’s training. Bring on the future of BFR!”

Nikki Doucet brings deep expertise within the sport apparel market. The former Nike Senior Exec boasts 18 years of global experience across private equity, investment banking and leading multinational consumer brand companies. Nikki will also be bringing her expertise as a start-up advisor and strategy consultant to assist Hytro in the expansion of the business.

Nikki added “In a market set for high growth and scalability, Hytro is leading the way with innovation. They have all the potential to be the globally recognised leader in BFR, so I am excited to help the team drive the business forward.”

Raj Thiruchelvarajah, CEO and Co-Founder of Hytro, said of the announcement, “We are delighted to welcome Yanto and Nikki – their respective experience holds them as some of the most highly-regarded professionals in the health and fitness industry. We look forward to welcoming their thoughts and ideas as we continue to bring Hytro BFR to the forefront of mainstream training.”

The news comes as Hytro announces a recent investment round that will see the brand seek an additional £1 million in early 2022 to further establish themselves as the leader in BFR training and innovator in the wider fitness industry. Investors, elite athletes and customers are already backing the revolutionary brand that is scientifically proven to increase muscle size by 31% and accelerate recovery time by 33%.

About Hytro:

Hytro’s patented wearable packages the remarkable benefits of BFR in safe and easy-to-use sportswear. Extensively tested by experts, Hytro is ideal for active or passive work, allowing athletes to power up their training sessions and boost their recovery. Developed by scientists, Hytro wearable BFR is made from high quality fabrics chosen for comfort, performance and longevity. It features an in-built strap, carefully designed and positioned to deploy within seconds and deliver a safe workout, making BFR more accessible than ever before.

About BFR Training:

To perform BFR training, a strap is applied to the upper arms or legs and tightened. This allows oxygenated blood to flow into the limbs while limiting the return blood flow. This increases muscle fibre activation and up-regulates muscle-building hormones, leading to rapid increases in muscle size and strength. Countless studies have found just two weeks of BFR training is enough to significantly increase muscle size, strength and power.

There is also significant scientific data to support the effectiveness of passive recovery with BFR. Using passive BFR will accelerate recovery, meaning athletes can feel refreshed after even the toughest of sessions. Passive BFR training can be done anytime, anywhere. By simply strapping in with your Hytro BFR wearable performance product, you put into motion a whole series of physiological changes in your body without the need for movement.
