Alpine Academy welcomes Hytro as Official BFR Training Supplier to improve drivers performance
Alpine Academy has announced Hytro as the team’s Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training supplier. Academy and Affiliates drivers will train with Hytro BFR wearables which are proven to improve performance and speed up recovery.
LONDON, 29th March 2022 – Hytro, the leaders in Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training with their patented wearable performance products, are delighted to become the official BFR Training supplier of the Alpine Academy. The partnership will see Hytro working directly with David Thompson, Driver & Race Team Human Performance Manager to support the physical development of the Alpine Academy drivers.
The partnership follows the successful trial of Hytro with the F1 team pit crew last season, where Connor Swan, Sports Performance Coach & Therapist at BWT Alpine F1 Team reported improvements in the team’s performance and recovery, due to integrating Hytro into their training regime. The partnership will see Hytro work closely with Alpine Academy drivers to help improve their performance on and off the track, through the introduction of BFR training.
Dr Warren Bradley, Founder and CTO at Hytro commented: “Alpine Academy is driven by science and innovation and epitomises performance at the highest level. By using Hytro, we’ve provided the drivers of the Academy with a practical BFR solution that unlocks the incredible performance benefits of BFR, wherever they are in the world. We look forward to working with their wider entity on increasing performance.”
David Thompson, Head of Human Performance at BWT Alpine F1 Team said: “Everyone knows the demands on the F1 circuit – especially the next generation of drivers. Having a product like Hytro that can deliver the physiological benefits of blood flow restriction in an accessible and safe way is hugely beneficial to our driver athletes. We are already seeing performance benefits from training and recovery using Hytro garments, and we look forward to converting these in to results on track.”
Hytro BFR werables function by tightening the in-built strap around the upper arms or legs which allows oxygenated blood to flow into the limbs while limiting the return blood flow. This increases muscle fibre activation and up-regulates muscle-building and recovery hormones, leading to rapid increases in strength while also flushing the body of waste toxins to decrease recovery time. The Alpine Academy are the latest in a growing list of an elite clubs and athletes using Hytro BFR products in their training to unlock physical potential. Other teams such as Leeds Rhinos, St Helens, Blackburn Rovers, Rangers F.C., as well as individuals such as Josh Charnley, Adam Hastings, Chris Billam-Smith and Dan Norton are just a few examples of those reaping the performance rewards of BFR at the elite level.
